Program Overview

Program Overview

As a Bekaert Young Graduate you will spend your first 18 months immersed in an environment of continuous on the job learning. During this time, we will offer you three unique experiences that will set you on the path to create your individual career. Those who are selected for the Bekaert Young Graduate program become part of a global management trainee program that is designed to develop our next generation of international leaders.

The selection process is where your journey begins. When you apply, we will already be considering your potential to evolve beyond your current knowledge and abilities; we will be looking for signs of your future potential.

When you join Bekaert, you are part of our team from day one. You will start to discover the world of Bekaert; our culture, our values, our ambitions, and the major role that our solutions play for people and the world we live in.

Three experiences will be designed just for you.
1.    Shopfloor insights will help you to develop technical knowledge, as well as your interpersonal abilities and self-management.
2.    Cross-functional insights will help you to develop cross-functional business understanding, teamwork and big picture thinking.
3.    International insights with time spent working in another country will help you develop a global mindset, cross-culture sensitivity               and effective collaboration in an international environment.

As part of each 6-month experience you will have specific learning assignments and you will put your learning into practice with on-the-job projects that are assessed at the end of each experience. You and your manager will regularly review your performance and development, and your personal mentor is there to help you succeed in each of the three experiences.

After successfully completing the training program, you will onboard in a role that we identify together, based on your performance in the earlier experiences. Exactly what accountabilities you will have will be defined by the key performance indicators for the role.
We are sure you will continue to build your knowledge and skills every day in your new role, and we will regularly discuss your performance and growth potential in the area you are currently working.

At the same time, you will have opportunities to develop the higher level managerial and behavioral skills that you will need to be successful in future leadership roles. Your growth path continues as you unlock your full potential.
