Purpose and Mission
- Within the IIoT team, we’re implementing cutting edge technologies while interacting with a lot of different stakeholders. As Senior Business (/Functional) Analyst, you act as the intermediary between the business, other ADS departments, and our development team. You are accountable for gathering input from business teams and writing usable requirements (or stories) for development teams and planning the UAT process. This role requires experience with strategic business initiatives and strong technical understanding of IIoT technologies.
- Next to that, the Senior Business Analyst should also take up a role as Scrum Master. He should serve as a facilitator and coach for the development team, making sure the team work efficiently by removing obstacles, fostering collaboration, and promoting continuous improvement. He should act as a bridge between all stakeholders (the development team, platform manager, SME’s, end users, etc.), ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals. Additionally, the Scrum Master monitors progress through ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Promote current IIoT applications within the company and gather new use-cases across all BU’s
- Build a network within the company and the different BU’s and keep them updated on key IIoT use-cases that were developed inside (and outside of) the company
- Propose potential use-cases to the BU’s and assist the BU is assessing the potential business value and impact; Ideate potential IIoT use-cases from process documents and develop business cases together with the BU’s
- Analyze emerging IIoT trends and compare use cases from other manufacturing companies to ideate and propose relevant solutions for Bekaert’s operations
Translate business vision and goals into technology requirements
- Analyze business objectives, gather input from the tech team, and consolidate all inputs and write clear requirements
- Work with all stakeholders (local people, developers, SME’s, etc.) to propose feasible solutions
- Submit final requirements for development
- Facilitate scope change discussions and provide recommendations when required
- Own collaboration between business and technical teams
Guide the development team during implementation
- Facilitate technical discussions to resolve ambiguities and align on implementation approaches
- Monitor progress again sprint goals and provide feedback to keep development on track
- Support adherence to standards by reminding the team of architectural principles, best practices, and potential scaling opportunities
- Promote building standardized and templatized solutions, effectively reducing implementation costs and enabling faster scalability across sites
- Coordinate with the platform manager to manage backlog items to make sure all priorities remain aligned with the business context
- Identify and remove blockers that could delay implementation escalating when necessary
- Encourage collaboration within the team and with other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration
- Validate that business requirements are met
- Drive clean and structured data management within the IIoT platform to ensure easy access to process data ready for analysis and modelling by other teams
- Ensure the details of solution development and deployment are properly captured in KT sessions and archived as call recordings & Solution documentation on Sharepoint
Partner with infra, engineering and local teams to deploy solutions and ensure adoption
- Coordinate deployment plans with infra, engineering, SME’s, and local teams to ensure readiness and alignment
- Validate technical prerequisites before solution rollout
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions for local teams to build understanding and confidence in the solution
- Gather feedback from local teams post-deployment to identify adoption challenges and improvement opportunities
- Support change management activities such as training, communication, and user onboarding
Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in a Business/Functional Analyst role, preferably in a manufacturing context
- Experience in working with globally distributed teams and partners.
- Experience and background with IIoT technologies
- Strong communication skills
