PURPOSE OF THE JOB  

To support our Data ambitions, we search for a Data Architect within the Commercial and Customer product group for architecting and designing data solutions around Commercial Master Data.  At Bekaert, we value our (Master) Data and hence invest in effective Master Data Management and Data Governance practices to support us in achieving our digital ambitions. To establish a sustained enterprise wide (Master) Data Management and Data Governance approach in co-drive with functions and businesses, the Advanced Digital Solutions (ADS) organization will strengthen the capability with Data and Information Experts/Architects with a product group/domain focus.

About the role

As a Data Architect for Customer Commercial domain (oversees data architecture, modelling, quality and governance, etc.), you represent business information and data by integrating strategic vision and roadmap for Customer Commercial, you will assure and drive in the process domain of Commercial:

• Refine SAP master data architecture, modelling and integration:  

  • Design and implement SAP master data models that align with the business requirements and best practices for managing customer and commercial master data in SAP as core.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP customer and commercial master data with other digital platforms to ensure data quality and consistency.

  • Master data transformation from data legacy tool to SAP MDG.

• Enable effective SAP master data and governance:

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies /standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of customer and Commercial master data. 

  • Deploy the master data governance framework and use the supporting data management tools.

  • Implement data quality management processes and tools to monitor and improve the quality of customer and commercial master data in SAP.

  • Assist data and analytics leaders, and business and ADS leadership in developing information governance processes and structures.

• Maximize value derived from data and analytics: Foster value creation using the organization's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy.

• Manage risk and lifecycle:

  • Aid the definition of data classifications and data zoning to allow information assets to be immediately identified and proactively managed as more information becomes federated in a digital economy.

  • Manage data lifecycle by clarifying the relevant policies, automating, monitoring and actively managing the effectiveness of implementation.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, ADS teams, and external partners to understand data requirements, resolve data-related issues, and support business processes.

• Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of master data management processes and make recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.

Overall, the role of a Master Data Architect for SAP customers and materials is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of customer and commercial master data within the SAP system, enabling efficient business processes and decision-making.

About You

Skills & Competencies

• Experienced in influencing people at a senior level across the business, the wider group and key external partners to establish the strategy and contribute to innovation.

• Experienced leader capable of influencing and inspiring cross-functional teams to challenge the norm and deliver innovative solutions.

• Business domain knowledge, data/content and process understanding on Commercial domain and other areas including sales, marketing, customer centric solutions, end-to-end supply chain etc. (which are as important as technical skills).

• System integration experience and data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.

• Data modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level. Skilled in Data Modeling techniques like CDM, LDM,... Data Platforms like SAP BW, SAP HANA, Azure Data Lake, ... MDM tools like SAP MDG……

• Proficiency in data governance, data quality, data reporting and data security practices.

• Experience in tools like Dynamics 365, Adobe Commerce/ Adobe Analytics etc. is plus.

• Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering complex data solutions within an agile framework.

• Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent through experience in the process domain with demonstrated affinity for master data, data governance and/or analytics.

• 12+ years of overall experience, 7+ years progressive work experience in data function related to the manufacturing industry and at least 5 years working experience as SAP master data architect.

• Strong knowledge of SAP master data modules and functionality, experience of processes in functional areas like SAP SD/MM.

• Experience in managing globally distributed teams and partners.
