We are looking to reinforce our BBU team with a:

 

Tooling Operator

 

Key Duties:

 

  • SHE:
    • Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are strictly adhered to at all times.
    • Working with the cell leader, strive to achieve departmental targets in relation to Health and Safety and meet continuously higher targets for accident reduction.
    • Identify and report any SHE issues affecting the cell.

 

  • Quality:
    • Ensure all tooling is inspected to verify conformance to specification.
    • Work as a team to continuously improve standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

 

  • Operations:
    • Efficient release of new and re-furbished tooling required by the cell.
    • Control agreed tooling Kanban levels.
    • Care of, and accurate and consistent use of shadowgraph projector and other inspection equipment.
    • Work within tolerances described on individual drawings.
    • Competent operation of Mazak CNC lathes.
    • Assist setting cell machines striving to continuously improve this process.
    • Work as part of cell team.
    • Work in accordance to and help to improve and update current SOP’s.
    • Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping.
    • Complete accurate documentation required  in line with the business needs.
    • Ensure that all tooling is correctly labelled after inspection and moved to the appropriate area.
    • Good communication will exist between tooling operator and cell leader at all times to ensure that any issues affecting the performance of the cell are addressed without delay.

 

Key Skills and Qualities:

 

  • Apprentice trained mechanical engineer or extensive experience of working in a toolroom environment.
  • Experience of Mazatrol operating/programming system.
  • Knowledge of machine operation would be advantageous.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Flexible.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A desire to continuously improve the operation of the cell in line with business targets.
