About the role

As a result of very ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a HR Business Partner to take up a brand new role in our Synthetic Ropes & Solutions facilities in Scotland.

 

This role will be part of a wider HR team based across England, and will be responsible for representing our Scottish sites in any Human Resources issues, providing advice and direction on issues of policy, strategy & legislation.

 

This part time role covers three sites in Scotland. These include Grangemouth, Coatbridge and Dundee, where we currently have around 90 staff in total and an ambition to grow headcount organically to c. 200 in the next 2-3 years As this role is a member of the Plant Management Team, the incumbent will be expected to work out of the Coatbridge site for the majority of the time, and be present on site at least 3 days per week. 

 

This would be an ideal role for someone who requires the flexibility to work around family and domestic arrangements. The variety of  flexible working possibillities can be discussed at interview stage.

 

Responsibilities

As a HR Business Partner you will be:-

  • Collaborating with other members of the plant management teams to align HR strategies with overall business objectives and operational needs.
  • Supporting organisational change initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and process improvements, while minimizing disruption to employees and operations.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to engage manufacturing employees, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and communication strategies.
  • Forecasting staffing needs, identifying skill gaps, and developing strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent within the manufacturing workforce.
  • Managing employee relations issues, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment to enhance morale and productivity on the manufacturing floor.
  • Working on a wide variety of projects & initiatives alongside other local (and global) HR Business Partners.

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess or be able to demonstrate:-

 

  • You are CIPD qualified to L5 (ideally working towards L7)
  • At least 5 years’ pervious HR Experience within a manufacturing setting, and ideally at least 2-3 years at a Business Partner level
  • Strong influencing skills, displaying the confidence & resilience needed to act as a true partner to the business and its leaders.  
  • Commercially & financially astute and possessing the ability to understand the business and apply people intel to add value to business performance and long-term sustainability.
  • A sound generalist  knowledge of HR practice, policy, procedure and employment legislation.
  • Knowledge of M&A would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong generalist HR experience in the fields of learning & development, performance management, employee relations and internal communications.
  • Driving licence and has access to a car.
