About the role
At Bridon-Bekaert Ropes Group we are currently looking for someone to join us as Mooring Solutions Engineer (Hybrid) in Coatbridge, Scotland. Mooring Solutions Engineer will provide comprehensive support and guidance to customers, end-users, and designers, aiming to co-create better mooring solutions and aligning our internal product development program with evolving customer needs.
Your Impact as Mooring Solutions Engineer:
- Utilize your expertise as a specialized Engineer in mooring systems to support customers in designing, optimizing, and installing synthetic Mooring Solutions that go from seafloor to floater.
- Work closely with the Bridon-Bekaert commercial business development and tender teams providing application inputs throughout each stage of the customer’s mooring lifecycle (design, tender, service, decommissioning).
- Translate the rope features of the Bridon-Bekaert synthetic offering into the mooring application language of the customer.
- Continuously assess and update performance targets for Bridon-Bekaert's on-going R&D, aligning them with evolving customer requirements and field feedback.
- Stay abreast with the latest trends in mooring, certification standards, application codes, and class societies thinking to remain at the forefront of industry knowledge.
- Represent Bridon-Bekaert at industry symposia, technical conferences, industry committees, and networking events, presenting our latest thought leadership.
- Provide introductory internal and external product / application training.
- Collaborate with other application engineers at Bridon-Bekaert to exchange valuable insights and knowledge across different products and sectors.
About You
Essential skills & competencies
- Masters in engineering with a passion for offshore engineering, naval architecture, mechanics, and material science.
- Prior experience as mooring engineer or design engineer of critical offshore mooring components is strongly valued.
- Demonstrated track record of working effectively with teams. Excellent interpersonal skills. Thrives in a compact fast paced entrepreneurial organization.
- Strong technical communication skills, adept at synthesizing complex mooring information into easily understandable language for a diverse audience.
- A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision and is willing to travel worldwide up to 25% of the time.
