Your Impact:

• To prepare commercial and technical bid proposals that are both effective and technically accurate: defining and calculating prices, commercial conditions, logistical terms, technical detail, project schedules etc.
• Review customer project RFQ documents in detail to interpret technical, commercial and project requirements
• Use technical knowledge to define product selection and project requirements to be offered to meet customer and project requirements
• Communicate with customers to establish their needs regarding bid submissions
• Be commercially aware about project phases, bid processes, customer expectations and able to respond appropriately
• Act as a point of contact for customer queries regarding proposal submission, in order to establish compliance with the specification and build positive on-going relationships
• Work closely with the bid proposal team to:
  • Help define the team's priorities
  • Monitor progress and status of bids, maintaining accurate records and obtaining feedback from Commercial team / customers
  • Ensure bids are submitted on time to customer requirements including any supporting documentation.
  • Follow up bids to discuss price, delivery and status.
• Develop cost calculations for projects based on customer specifications
• Collaborate with the Commercial team to determine appropriate pricing & strategy required to win
• Identify bid requirements, and work in partnership with, Commercial, Engineering, Project, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams as appropriate, in order to evaluate all aspects of the project – considering the complexity of the bid, risk and commercial terms

About You

Essential skills & competencies

• Good level of efficiency with MS Excel formulas and use in building / maintaining costing or calculation tools – with ability to develop further
• Competent in carrying out cost calculations and estimations
• Understanding of basic accountancy principles
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• At least 2 years’ experience in engineering / project / technical environment
• Experience in product/project costing & estimation
• Experience in written proposals / reports / technical information
