About the role

This position is to provide robust functional leadership in safety, health, and environment (SH&E) and support the achievement of SH&E KPI’s at the site in Scotland, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. SH&E Manager ensures appropriate arrangements for effective planning, management, organisation, control, monitoring, evaluation and maintenance of existing preventive and protective measures. The position requires a multidisciplinary approach to ensure compliance with Bridon-Bekaert standards and policies and related health and safety regulations within the site. 

Your Impact as SHE Manager

• Ensure that site staff receive adequate safety training and that such training is appropriately recorded and updated.
• Guide management in promoting and implementing SH&E objectives and improvements and resources for agreed activities and these objectives.
• Develop a robust and effective strategy for continuous improvement of SH&E environment.
• Manage SH&E data and KPI’s in the Enablon system and ensure they are communicated, updated, and reviewed accurately and timely.
• Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded, reported, and investigated in accordance with the company's incident handling procedures and that all corrective actions are identified, implemented, and evaluated.
• Monitor and facilitate compliance with legal and Bekaert requirements and address non-compliance issues with Site Management.
• Plans, organises, and manages capital and expenditures related to SH&E activities.
• Works as an integral member of the Site Operational Management Team.
• Maintains constructive relationships with external organisations such as HSE, local authorities and services.

About You

Essential skills & competences

• You have a general NEBOSH certificate and a good understanding of SH&E issues and solutions in manufacturing environment.
• You have +5 years of experience in an operational environment.
• You collaborate effectively with managers and team members and commit to SH&E actions and improvements.
• You have strong leadership skills.
• You have a proven track of record delivering results in a fast–paced environment.
• You are analytical and have good problem-solving skills.
