Position summary


As Business Development Manager Synthetic Lifting Solutions Europe, you are responsible for growing our Synthetic Lifting Business in Europe.


  • Through development of new, and ongoing contacts with existing customers, you will make and ensure execution of the annual sales plan for Synthetic off-shore Lifting Solutions in Europe.
  • You set-up commercial partnerships that will accelerate growth.
  • You provide accurate sales forecasts and updates.
  • You follow up on specific technical support and you organize / commercialize our services offering.
  • You build in depth product and application knowledge.
  • You continuously monitor the target market, the evolution of customer priorities and competitor activities.
  • You build & execute a market and product development roadmap for Advanced Engineered Synthetic Lifting solutions. You map customer requirements and translate into product development targets.
  • You represent Bridon-Bekaert on industry conferences, joint industry projects and norm committees related to synthetic lifting products and applications
  • You keep abreast of new developments, market conditions, competitive activities, pricing, advertising and promotional trends. You participate in trade shows and conventions.
  • You report to the General Manager Synthetics. In addition, you collaborate with the Innovation, the Technical Commercial and Operations Teams.
  • Travel is needed; up to 25% of your time you visit customers and prospects in your region.   


Candidate profile                                                               

  • University degree in engineering, commercial engineering or business management.
  • Minimum of five years business development / marketing & sales experience in a B2B context, preferably but not necessarily in the Synthetics Ropes and/or Crane business (or related activities).
  • Background in international business management, international customer-supplier relationship, general business law and contracts as well as international trade practices and regulations.
  • Energetic “Hunter” type of commercial manager with “roll up sleeves” mentality.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A highly collaborative, enthusiastic manager with a proven track record of working in matrix organizations.
  • History of setting and achieving high standards of performance.
