About the role

 

You will provide technical support to the hydrogen technology team in research and/or product development for water electrolysers components. As a R&D Technician, you will perform a variety of hands-on laboratory tasks aimed at the development of next-generation components and continuous improvement of the performance of our existing water electrolysis products. This position is located in Belgium.

 

Your Impact as ‘R&D  Technician – Hydrogen’:
Execute/supports internal benchmarking exercises.
• Investigate possibilities for product improvement.
• Supports technology research/development and improvement projects by hands-on execution, organise and analyze trials and report writing.
• Supports that Bekaert technology is protected by patents.
• Support innovation/landscaping by reviewing literature.
• Supports updating of specifications (FMEA, SOPs, etc.)
• Supports writing training materials and keep them updated.
• Support in audits.
• Ability to support with technical assistance for both internal and/or external stakeholders where and when needed.

 

About You

Essential skills & competencies
Bachelor in electrochemistry/mechanics/chemistry/material science with 0 – 3 years of working experience in relevant field.
• Previous experience in coatings, chemical surface modification is a plus
• Able to work in an R&D environment.
• Able to build in-depth technical knowledge and expertise in a specific technical domain.
• Self-management.
• Innovation.
• A good knowledge of English is a must, Dutch would be a strong advantage
