Purpose and Mission
Within the Bekaert Technology Center, located in Deerlijk and responsible for steering the global development of new processes and products, we are currently looking for a driven R&D Process Technician with a passion for mechanics.

Then you might be the R&D Process Technician with a passion for mechanics that we are looking for.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- You continuously develop your knowledge of the production process and are driven to become a true expert in this field.
- You provide excellent support to the team across a wide range of projects and activities. For example, you will lead trials for new production processes, guiding operators who carry out these trials.
- You actively and innovatively contribute to the development of new products and processes and support their rollout across the various departments.
- You are responsible for safeguarding and documenting knowledge so it can be used in different factories worldwide. You translate this knowledge into procedures and also provide administrative support in the area of quality management.
- You act as a point of contact and advise production departments worldwide on their issues and projects, both remotely and—when necessary—on site. You also carry out, report on, and follow up on process audits.
- Organizing and supervising trials
- Documenting and analyzing trials and production data, including basic statistical analysis
- Writing reports, quality documents, and training materials
- Providing training within one’s own area of expertise
- Customer-oriented and quality-conscious, both externally and internally
- Building a strong network across locations and departments
Skills
- You have a hands-on mindset.
- You are pragmatic in your approach.
- You are a true team player, both within your own team and in collaboration with other departments and sites across Bekaert.
- You are willing to follow training during the first year of employment at a foreign plant (minimum 3 up to maximum 6 months).
- You are willing to travel up to 10% of your time (one trip usually takes about one week).
- You speak and write English very fluently.
- Working accurately and with great attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Digitally proficient
Previous Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in T&I, production, or a similar technical role is required.
- Hands-on experience with conducting tests and trials, as well as implementing new technologies and processes.
Qualifications and Education
- You obtained a bachelor’s degree in a technical field (mechanics, electromechanics, etc.).
