The purpose of the Quality Engineer role is to apply appropriate Quality tools and techniques in order to deploy and improve EMEA Quality policies and procedures that ensures compliance to internal and external standards.

The main accountabilities are:

  • To maintain and improve the quality management system, in accordance with International Standards such as ISO9001.
  • To undertake internal audits in accordance with Bridon policies and procedures, complete audit reports, issue non conformances and verify corrective actions. Assist with external audits via 3rd party audit bodies as required.
  • Process daily communications relating to customer complaints, (PRCs, PRUs, PRIs), evaluate root cause, identify, facilitate, and follow up on effectiveness of corrective action plans.
  • Preparation of reports as necessary to fulfill the needs of internal and external customers. 
  • Collation and analysis of quality performance data and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Support continual improvement and where necessary facilitate other functions in problem solving and improvement activities. Act as project lead for quality led improvement projects to deliver the site Quality objectives. 
  • Generate and complete order specific certification, quality, and test plans; escorting external inspectors as required including 3rd party wire testing.
  • Oversee the inspection and quality release of product from suppliers, throughout the manufacturing process and final release.
  • Oversee the management of the calibration log and work with the department to ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with the procedure. 
  • Create, update and release procedures including issue of hard copy documents in accordance with the site document control logs and procedure. 
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures (including health, safety and environment) are personally adhered to taking a ‘no walk past’ approach.
  • Where assigned supervise the activities of Quality Technicians, including day to day tasks and supporting annual PDP and development / training plans.

  • Has comprehensive knowledge of QA fundamentals.
  • Has a comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Is able to prepare user friendly company procedures and documentation.
  • Is able to prepare professional reports suitable for internal and external consumption.
  • Has high attendtion to detail, accuracy, analytical skills, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including customers and auditors.
  • Can use MS Office suite
  • Is able to develop, improve and implement working practices, including facilitation.
  • Can work effectively within teams and can work towards schedules and deadlines.
