Sales Specification Engineer - Infrastructure (ME)

Purpose and Mission

The Sales Specification Engineer is responsible for driving the specification and adoption of Bekaert's steel fiber reinforcement solutions during the early design phase of infrastructure, tunnelling, precast, transportation, and mega projects across the Middle East. The role is based in Dubai UAE and focuses on influencing project specifications, supporting regulatory approvals and certifications, and coordinating technical solutions with internal and external stakeholders to maximize project conversion opportunities. He will report to ASM / Head of Infrastructure Middle East.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Promote Bekaert steel fiber solutions to consultants, designers, owners, and engineering firms during conceptual and detailed design phases.
• Secure inclusion of Bekaert products and performance-based specifications in project tender documents.
• Identify and track upcoming infrastructure, tunnelling, transportation, ports, industrial, and precast projects.
• Coordinate with Bekaert technical teams to develop optimized steel fiber design solutions approved by authorities.
• Support structural design reviews, value engineering exercises, and technical comparisons against conventional reinforcement.
• Support precast manufacturers and consultants in implementing steel fiber reinforced concrete solutions.
• Lead and support product approvals, certifications, and compliance activities with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate certification processes with municipalities, transport authorities, and standards organizations.
• Prepare technical documentation required for approvals and certification renewals.
• Conduct technical presentations, seminars, workshops, and training sessions.
• Maintain a pipeline of specification opportunities and monitor project conversion potential.
• Responsible for specification target to be agreed with line manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree in engineering science / fiber technology is preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure, tunnelling, precast, construction materials, structural design, or specification engineering.
• Knowledge of Eurocode, fib Model Code, ACI, and BS EN standards is preferred
• Locally presented is mandatory.
• Well known profile for Ready mix suppliers / local laboratories.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel across the Middle East with 50 % travel percentage.
