Flintstone Technology is a dynamic engineering company based in Dundee, Scotland, specializing in the design and manufacture of innovative permanent mooring solutions for the global energy sector. Since its founding in 2012, Flintstone has built a reputation for delivering high-performance solutions including hull and seabed connectors and tensioning systems. Now part of the Bekaert Group, Flintstone operates with the agility of a small team—currently around 16 employees—while benefiting from the backing of a global industrial leader. Purpose and Mission

 

As the Engineering & Projects Manager at Flintstone Technology Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in steering a diverse technical team toward delivering engineering excellence and outstanding project outcomes. Your leadership will foster innovation, driving research and development initiatives that propel our technology capabilities forward and secure a competitive advantage in complex engineering environments.

    • You Provide technical leadership to engineers, project managers, and project engineers.
    • You Ensure resource planning for both technical and project execution teams in collaboration with Operations.
    • You Champion continuous improvement and technical governance across all projects.

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering and project teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
  • Oversee technical input for bids and project execution.
  • Drive R&D projects to support innovation and future growth.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, technical risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and maintain strong relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, reports, and technical documentation.

Skills

  • Decisive and action-oriented, with ability to streamline decision-making and maintain focus on priorities.
  • Strong communication skills: able to explain decisions clearly and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a large corporate structure.

  • Excellent listener and communicator with strong English language skills.

Previous Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in offshore or complex engineering systems (mooring background ideal).

    Proven track record in technical leadership roles managing multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications and Education

  • Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
