Flintstone Technology is a dynamic engineering company based in Dundee, Scotland, specializing in the design and manufacture of innovative permanent mooring solutions for the global energy sector. Since its founding in 2012, Flintstone has built a reputation for delivering high-performance solutions including hull and seabed connectors and tensioning systems. Now part of the Bekaert Group, Flintstone operates with the agility of a small team—currently around 20 employees—while benefiting from the backing of a global industrial leader. Purpose and Mission
Ensuring accounting records are accurate and up to date. Ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up to date accounting records on Sage accounting software
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are kept up to date
- Prepare monthly reporting pack, reporting to Flintstone management team and Group
- Monthly reporting of financial results, variance against budget, and forecasting
- Annual Budget and quarterly reforecasting preparation
- Maintain cashflow forecasts and track daily and periodic performance
- Maintain working capital forecasts
- Maintain purchase ledger, ensuring purchase invoices are recorded accurately and payments are made in line with payment terms
- Maintain sales ledger, preparing and processing sales invoices, monitoring outstanding items against payment terms
- Processing of all bank transactions and bank reconciliations
- Record financial transactions for project, department, or company
- Review of project costing and weekly project budget meetings with Project Managers
- Preparation of VAT returns and submission to HMRC
- Prepare related returns for HMRC
- Ensure accuracy and processing of monthly payroll
- Prepare year end financial statements, including supporting schedules and main point of contact for financial audit
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
- Processing of foreign currency hedging
- Financial input and review on quotations
- Maintain the financial policies and procedures for the company
Skills
- Experience in the use of accountancy software, ideally Sage
- Experience of producing monthly management accounts
- Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills
- Experience of project/job costing.
- People-oriented professional with strong integrity, confidence, and ethical values.
- Team player comfortable working in a small team within a large corporate environment, with a hands-on approach.
- Positive attitude with a good sense of humour and flexibility to support when needed
Previous Experience
- Minimum 3 year’s experience in a similar position
- Professional Accountancy Qualifications
Qualifications and Education
- Professional Accountancy Qualifications ,Bachelor’s Degre in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
