Purpose and Mission

  • Responsible for supporting the Plant SHE Manager in implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • SHE Program Support:
    - Assist in  implementation of SHE policies and procedures.
    - Support the SHE  Plant Manager in ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.
    - Participate in regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    - Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
    - Investigate incidents and near-misses, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
    - Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and training.

  • Training and Awareness:
    - Assist in delivering SHE training programs for employees and contractors.
    - Ensure all personnel are aware of SHE policies and procedures.
    - Promote a culture of continuous improvement in SHE practices.

  • Emergency Response:
    - Support the development and maintenance of emergency response plans.
    - Participate in emergency drills and training exercises.
    - Assist in coordinating responses to emergency situations.

  • Reporting and Documentation:
    - Prepare and submit SHE reports to the SHE Site Manager and regulatory agencies as required.
    - Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHE records.
    -Track and report on SHE performance metrics.
     

Skills

  • Competence in safety techniques, including risk assessment.
  • Proficience in safety protocols and risk management
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word & Powerpoint
  • ISO 14001 and 45001 knowledge

Previous Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SHE department, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or a similar role

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering). Authorized certification required.
  • ISO14001 Internal Auditor Certificate
