Purpose and Mission
As Business Development Manager Steel Ropes, you are responsible for growing our Steel Ropes Business in Asia North and SEA.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- You support regional Commercial Director translate the overall long-term Steel Ropes segment strategies into an annual regional sales plan.
- Through development of new, and ongoing contacts with existing customers, you ensure execution of the annual sales plan in terms of volume and margin.
- You work with regional sales team to set-up commercial partnerships that will accelerate growth
- You work closely with regional sales team to provide accurate sales forecasts and updates
- You build in depth product and application knowledge.
- You continuously monitor the target market, the evolution of customer priorities and competitor activities.
- You are the main contact with developing market and clients and therefore are first in line to capture market and clients’ needs. You forward this information internally to play an active role in the product and/or application development and Steel Ropes regional strategies.
- You have sense of market evolving to give indication and supporting report
- You report to the Regional Commercial Director Ropes. In addition, you collaborate with the regional sales team, technical, innovation, the Customer service Teams.
- You need to work closely with Global Segment team to study and focus on potential business/market development in NAS & SEA
- You need to work closely with other regions BD managers to support each other develop the business/market
- Potentially involve possible M&A project in regions
- Clear and fresh insight for the market/business development in NAS & SEA
- Travel is needed; up to 25% of your time you visit customers and prospects in your region.

- Energetic “Hunter” type of commercial manager with “roll up sleeves” mentality.
- Market and new customer development, market analysis skills
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- A highly collaborative, enthusiastic manager with a proven track record of working in matrix organizations.

Previous Experience
- Minimum of five years business development / marketing & sales experience in a B2B or B2C context, preferably but not necessarily in the Steel Ropes or manufacturing business.
Qualifications and Education
- University degree in engineering, commercial engineering or business management
