Production Coordinator Hanover (Wilkes-Barre)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Coordinate, plan and deliver all plant production & training operations. Responsible for ownership of production operations, performance, personnel, safety, quality, and on time delivery. Responsible for the plant training & development program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinator Functions 

  • Operate, and lead independently. Effectively manage daily standard work with little supervision. Responsible for ownership of production performance.

  • Lead Level 1 shift meetings at start of day shift. Lead daily Level 2 Production meetings. Prepares for meetings in advance with relevant performance, safety, and quality data. Drives actions and problem-solving during meetings.

  • Own all KPI’s at Level 1 and 2. Uses performance boards to highlight relevant data. Update/make improvements to KPI’s as needed.

  • Manage BBMS projects within the production work stream. Owns actions, ensure adherence to timelines, and planned results.

  • Coordinate all production scheduling with the Planning Department.

  • Continuously monitors the plant production performance, schedule, and adherence.

  • Coordinates all plant scheduling.

  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of wire, half product, spools, packaging, chemicals, lubricants, and shop floor tooling.

  • Responsible for ensuring all material transactions are performed accurately. Leads monthly and yearly physical inventories.

  • Serve as point of contact for the Plant during all production meetings.

  • Proactively use data to effectively problem solve. Proficient with AS400 MRP system. Capture production data and independently analyze to identify trends, draw conclusions, and drive improvement.

  • Perform weekly Rapid-Fire Audits and GEMBA walks.

Training Coordination Functions 

  • Sustain and improve plant training and development through a structured approach.

  • Manage the plant training matrix.

  • Coach and mentor personnel.

  • Evaluate employee performance and discipline employees in a consistent manner when appropriate within company guidelines.

  • Promote team environment.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate degree and/or equivalent experience. 

Experience: 2-5 years manufacturing experience. 2-3 years in production and/or training role. 

Mandatory Skills: Intermediate Excell for data analysis and strong communication skills to do presentations to medium groups. 

Skill At: Ability to train, develop and influence others, team building, coaching, safety-oriented, Lean Manufacturing, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, working with unions preferred.    

**Own mobilization is needed since the plant is located in Hanover (Wilkes-Barre)
