Group Insurance Manager

Purpose and Mission

As part of Bekaert's global risk and insurance strategy, the Group Insurance Manager plays a key role in global operations and enabling sustainable growth. This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure comprehensive insurance coverage and effective risk transfer.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Manage Global Insurance Programs: Design and oversee coverage for property, liability, credit, D&O, cyber, transport, and more.
•    Lead Renewals & Negotiations: Secure optimal terms with brokers and insurers.
•    Premium and policy management: Collect underwriting information for insured values and premiums; review insurance policy documents and premium invoices.
•    Claims Management: Handle claims from first notification to settlement.
•    Risk Analysis: Identify emerging risks and recommend insurance solutions.
•    Contract Review: Assess liability and insurance clauses in commercial agreements.
•    Strategic Advisory: Provide insights for budgeting, planning, and M&A activities; maintain strong insurer relationships.

Skills

•    Master’s degree preferably in Law, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate insurance management, brokerage, or underwriting.
•    Strong analytical mindset and proven problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication, relationship and negotiation skills, able to influence without direct authority.
•    Collaborative team player with a high multicultural sensitivity.
•    Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
•    Willing to travel regularly to Belgium and global locations (approx. 20%).
