The purpose of the vacancy
We are looking for a strong expert for product properties of metal-coated steel wires in SWS, with priority on advanced hot dip Zn-Al coatings. You will mainly focus on formulation of USP’s (Unique Selling Proposition) of the metallic coating for the wide range of applications and market of SWS, using expert knowledge and advanced insights in the performance of galvanised wire in the several applications. We expect you to share the knowledge with different regions, especially marketing.
Supporting innovation to come with new and advanced coatings for exisiting and new wire-applications.

About the role
Be an expert on product properties of galvanised wires. Understand fully the process of making the products.
Cooperates with plants and commercial teams, producing and selling galvanised wires.
Be aware of Bekaert capabilities in all regions for galvanised wires: coating-type and thickness, substrate diameter, shape and mechanical properties, coating quality and surface condition (incl color-passivation or polymer coating) and further (internal processing).
Have overview of all developments and learnings going on in the different teams regarding metallic coatings.
Organize internal benchmarking to compare quality and capability.
Knowing the competitive landscape of galvanised wires. Following the developments in world of galvanised steel sheet and structures/components.

About You
University education in Engineering or Applied science with speciality in Chemistry, Metals or Physics.
Passionate for understanding and optimising processes in function of quality and performance of final product in the application.
Acquainted with lab-testing and Electrochemistry and interested in controlling and developping of test methodologies.
Analytical skills and problem solving expertise
Good reporting skills; both in written form with care for detail and completness and also in presentation form to give training and share knowledge
Cooperation skills across regions, functions and cultures.
Externally oriented and eager to learn in field of expertise.
Project management skills including systematic approach
Fast learning and ready to build knowledge on manufacturing processes and production
Fluent Slovak and English language
