Your Role

1. Support the machine building activities of BTEC as machine owner & expert

a). Support Sales
Up to date configurator & sales documentation availabe upon request. Assist in the configuration of new machines upon request. Provide machine type related training upon request.
b). Support Purchasing
Provide up-to-date and correct detailed drawings and spec.to define the parts to be manufactured or purchased. 
Provide timely answers on questions posed by purchasing, sourcing and suppliers regarding the functional requirements for commercial and  manufacturing components/assemblies. 
c). Support QA
Up-to-date critical to quality file defined and available at all times. Provide timely answers on questions posed by QA regarding the quality requirements for the manufactured parts/assemblies. No let-pass which compromises the quality of the product on short or long run without permission by BTEC sales.
d). Support Assembly
Provide up-to-date assembly drawings. Provide timely corrective and preventive solutions for problems encountered during assembly. 
e). Support Installation:
Provide up-to-date layout and handling diagram at all times. Provide adequate corrective and preventive solutions on questions posed & problems faced by installation people.
f). Support GAMM: 
Provide spare parts list and maintenance presciptions at all times. Provide adequate corrective and preventive solutions on questions posed & problems faced by the maintenance people.

2. Support our customers as machine owner

a). Support machine configuration by proposing the available historical standard process parts, extend the available range if not suitable. 
b). Provides proposals for required machine modifications/revampings as per customer's requirements
c). Provide timely short and long term solutions on questions posed & problems faced by our customer. 
d). Makes realistic estimates for these support activities in terms of materials and human resources required, budget and schedule involved as input for quotation for BTEC sales. 

3. Knowledge build-up and sharing as expert

a). Develop and maintain an in-depth expert understanding.
b). Keep track with the developments outside Bekaert by study of technical literature, journals and patents, by visiting fairs.
c). Provide necessary reports, presentations and training to share knowledge with the rest of the organization.

4. Continuous improvement & innovation

Within the competency domain one is assigned to, under the guidance of his superior:
a). Understand and keep a clear view on the internal (BTEC) and external (BTEC's customers) organizations needs.
b). Identifies opportunities for further improvement (eg. further localization, extension of machine type range, quality improvement...) and innovation (new machine types, systems,...) 
c). Evaluate the potential of these opportunities and determine the required resources for TQM, development or R&D projects.  
d). Take action to realize the project together with assigned team following the expected way of working.

5. Sub-project planning & execution

a). Makes realistic schedules & budgets in terms of materials and resources for sub-project execution.
b). Follow-up and report the progress of the sub-project.
c). Propose solutions and takes actions to adjust the deviations in terms of progress & spenditure from planning after agreement with supervisor.
d). Understand BIP requirements for the contribution one is expected to make himself.
e). Understand BIP requirement for the sub-project and supervise team members to follow the requirements.
f). Make proposals to adapt the way of working in sub-project execution to improve BIP effectivity
 

Your Profile

1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, at least 5 years experience in mechanical design or Master's degree with at least 2 years experience.
2. Broad knowledge in mechanical and mechatronical engineering domain (components & systems, concepts, practices and procedures).
3. Strong analytical and problem sovling skill.
4. Knowledge of CAD/CAE, SAP and other related engineering software.
5. Fluent in English communication both in spoken and written, technical and non-technical.
6. Responsible, interactive team player and leader, strong communicator.
7. Proactive, self-motivated and result driven.
