Purpose and Mission

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Engineer specializing in custom machined components for production equipment. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end procurement process for non-standard, precision-engineered parts involving machining, forging, casting, and related processes. This role requires close collaboration with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure the timely supply of high-quality components that meet technical specifications and project timelines.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for custom machined parts (including precision machining, forging, casting, etc.) used in production equipment.
• Manage RFQ processes, analyze supplier quotations, conduct cost breakdown analysis, and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
• Work closely with engineering teams to review technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Ensure purchased components meet quality standards, delivery schedules, and cost targets.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct supplier audits, and drive continuous improvement in quality and cost.
• Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and industry dynamics to support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Resolve supply issues, including delivery delays, quality non-conformities, and commercial disputes.
• Support new product development projects by providing procurement expertise from prototype to mass production.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports on sourcing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Previous Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of procurement or sourcing experience in a multinational machinery/equipment manufacturing or automotive industry.
• Strong technical understanding of machining processes (CNC, turning, milling, grinding), forging, casting, and surface treatments.
• Proven experience in cost analysis, cost breakdown, and negotiation for custom mechanical components.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree  in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
