Purpose and Mission
The candidate is expected to maintain a reliable and robust costing system with strong continuous improvement mindset. He or she will focus on product cost analysis and provide sound variance analysis to support management decision‑making. With proactive problem-solving attitude, the candidate shall improve operational efficiency and provide strong financial support to business development.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
1. Standard Costing
- Build standard costs for new products in close cooperation with the operations team.
- Update standard costs for existing products based on business requirements (tariffs updated annually; raw material prices updated monthly).
- Monitor and maintain SAP Controlling module elements, including cost centers, cost elements, work centers, and allocation keys.
- Calculate variances and inventory value changes resulting from standard cost updates.
2. Cost Accounting & Period Closing
- Lead monthly cost allocation and posting activities and ensure accuracy.
- Organize monthly physical inventory counts and prepare inventory movement reports.
- Prepare monthly production cash cost reports.
- Calculate intercompany transfer prices in accordance with Group transfer pricing policies.
- Review expense posting accuracy and perform manual journal entries when required.
3. Analysis & Reporting
- Perform margin analysis for major products and review sales margin reports.
- Analyze variances between actual costs and standard costs.
- Build and analyze cash cost bridges to support cost improvement initiatives.
- Regularly analyze standard cost evolution, including changes in material prices, production processes, bill of materials (BOM), and allocation rules.
- Structured analysis and benchmarking of cost key drivers for each cost category
4. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budget planning process and coordinate with operational departments for target setting.
- Work closely with Finance controller and plant management for monthly forecasts and cost analyses.
- Support the annual standard cost setup, including standard prices, representative activity, tariffs, and allocation rules.
5. Other Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluation and studies of financial projects (e.g. CAPEX, cost saving).
- Internal control supporting.
- Regular visit and study on shopfloor.
- Coordinate with shared service centers and other functional departments to handle daily affairs as well as ad‑hoc tasks at plant level.
Skills
- Good command of English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel etc.); ERP/SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Power BI.
- Experience in Python programming and automatic data processing is a plus.
- Proactive mindset with commitment to continuous improvement.
- Good teamwork and cross-functional communication skills.
Previous Experience
1–3 years of relevant cost accounting experience in a multinational company.
Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
