Purpose and Mission

The person in this role will have the credibility to be recognized within the Finance and Bekaert community as an independent, equitable stakeholder with responsibility for all aspects pertaining to the controlling of the Engineering activities for the Diversified BUs.

This role will be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the VP FP&A and VP Engineering Engineering Diversified BUs in relation to all Controlling, Financial Planning and Reporting processes related to the Engineering activities within the Diversified BUs.

The role entails the controlling of the Engineering activities for the Diversified BUs in all relevant location, in close collaboration with the local controllers (Slovakia, India, US Brazil and Belgium).

Key Activities and Responsibilities

1.

 

Financial Controlling for Engineering Diversified BUs

Drive all planning processes (forecast, budget and strategic plan) related to Engineering

Control the actual costs for the Engineering activities, providing key insights for Management and identifying actions to reduce costs.

Participate when needed in Management reviews to provide insights on the Engineering activities, with focus on cost and efficiency

Ensure adequate operation and pricing model in place for the various activities in Engineering (Design, Manufacturing, Spare Parts and Service)

Ensure compliance and manage operation risk with effective control framework

Maintain a lean finance team to oversee all aspects of the Engineering scope for Diversified BUs

Facilitate operational excellence

Coordinate, with the Engineering Management Team, initiatives to drive OPEX down and establish a waste avoidance culture

Ensure timely reporting and monitor the impact of the initiatives in the Management Result. Maintain tailored indexes with dynamic monitoring

Enhance good practice sharing across the different geographies

Perform FBP role for ENG-China

Ensure effective accounting and reporting framework

Promote KPIs on variable/fixed costs mgt with real-time monitoring.

Track cost evolution on key equipment models

Enhance inventory rotation and labor efficiency.

Ensure internal control and compliance record

4.

Other

Provide inputs to Group Consolidation regarding Margin Eliminations

Support any relevant initiatives within Engineering

 

Skills

SAP & PC Literate (MS-Office tools, Power BI…)

Previous Experience

  • 10 years professional experience with 5 years proved track record on managerial positions in manufacturing businesses.
  • Multi cultural exposure is a plus.

Qualifications and Education

Finance Related Degree and/or relevant Professional qualification. Financial accounting certifications are a plus.
