About the role

Your Impact as Plant Buyer: In order to strengthen the current growth, we are looking for incumbent to manage the total purchasing process (sourcing & procurement) for important/technical local purchases. Assess, lead and implement ways to to increase overall process efficiency. Support local, regional (and global) purchasing and category management.

• Steering the management of specifications for important and critical local purchases: make sure that the specs are clear and available in the system and assure the communication to the suppliers.
• Lead the full purchasing process for products or services, including final negotiation. Decide independently on tactical purchase orders for the assigned facility.
• Participate in strategic sourcing teams to assist and to represent the purchasing volume of his/her location within the team.
• Report the status of the KPI’s for assigned areas to local management and proposes projects and actions to timely comply with the targets.
• Support the administration of contracts and organize for these contracts the activation in collaboration with internal applicants, tactical buyers, category manager.
• Support the regional category managers in the administration of the purchase to pay process: transformation of purchase requisitions to purchase order, complaint & claims handling, order confirmation, on time delivery, blocking lists, exception lists, savings reports, information exchange with internal customer (consumer).
• Support the regional category managers in the reporting of transacted volumes & spend analysis on all levels , assuring the proper archiving of transactions and sourcing files, assuring the up-to-date registration of supplier files, Bekaert specifications, Master Data management and further expansion of e-enabled suppliers in the eSourcing system.
• Prepare, administer, monitor and execute all appropriate documentation and communication when it involves international or complex transactions (Letter of Credit, import licenses, transportation organization, certificates, SLA’s, bidding tables, notifications, etc.) in cooperation with the internal clients.
• Source for and contract suppliers for routine or one-off purchases (including the negotiations on prices and terms of delivery and payment in case of small or less technical contracts or one off purchases).

About You

Essential skills & competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Material Engineering, Int'l Trade, Business Administration, Economics or relevant Logistics, Business fields.
• Minimum of 3 years proven tactical buyer or similar experience
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal skills, continuously reaching out to a broad range of functions and levels at other companies in the value chain
• Strong narrative and presentation skills, ability to generate enthusiasm amongst prospects
• Comfortable in managing ambiguity and able in handling rejection
• Continuously learning and exploring alternative options, routes and sources to resolve problems, avoids jumping to conclusions
• High level of initiative and ability to work independent, able to determine own direction
• Reside in Izmit/ Kocaeli
