Application Engineer Filtration Specialist

 

Your role

 

  • You work closely with customers to identify their filtration needs. Through regular contacts/visits, you propose solution, troubleshoot and fix the problem, coordinate with the BFT organization when there is a technical improvement opportunity or problem.
  • You take the lead in application projects in close collaboration with internal (R&D, Quality, Global Segment manager, Commercial, Market Intelligence) and external stakeholders/partners (subcontractors, universities, third parties). You act as a technical advisor, providing guidance and support throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • You design and optimize filtration systems based on customer requirements and industry standards.
  • You understand in depth the filtration segment (product portfolio, product performance, customer’s applications, competitors’ portfolio).
  • You collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative filtration solutions.
  • You provide technical expertise and support to the commercial team during customer meetings and presentations. You give training to the commercial team on products and applications.
  • You have a deep knowledge of the applications. You understand and report market and technology trends, market sizing, technical challenges, unmet needs, development needs, product specs & properties, production processes, and way of working at the customer.
  • You provide input to support GSM in long term strategy and product roadmap definition.

 

Your profile

 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science or engineering (chemistry, material Science, physics, etc).
  • You have proven experience as an Application Engineer with a focus on filtration applications.
  • You are customer / user centric in your approach.
  • You have an open and creative mind to develop innovative and impactful products and experiences.
  • You have strong analytical skills and a good understanding of commercial processes, being able to work closely with the commercial and R&D teams to translate business needs into effective solutions.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend effective solutions.
  • You have good influencing and change management skills – you ask critical questions when needed – you proactively seek alignment with stakeholders to be able to drive adoption and change forward.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills to be able to drive a transformation.
  • You feel comfortable with taking decisions and communicating to a multitude of stakeholders.
  • You think along critically, and you are a real team player.
  • You are acquainted with developing playbooks and setting up frameworks.
  • You are a fast learner.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience with agile project management practices.
  • You are willing to travel to customer sites as required.
  • You are able to live the Bekaert Values and Key Leadership Behaviors.
