To strengthen Bekaert’s current growth in North America, we are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager with previous experience in all facets of the precast concrete construction industry. This position will play a vital role in the business development of fiber reinforcement and will be responsible for direct and indirect account development within the US and Canada. The ideal individual will have the proven ability to grow and develop new markets while seizing new opportunities. This is a remote-based opportunity with the preferred candidate residing in the Eastern part of the US. This role will report to the Area Sales Manager, Building Products USA.
Your Impact as Precast Business Development Manager:
• Focus on Precast Concrete Manufactures while cultivating their supporting ecosystem of Engineers, General contractors, property developers, and owners/investors.
• Leverage industry relevant Trade Organizations, Research institutes, Universities, and Standardization committees as needed better to understand potential opportunities and or roadblocks for success
• Map & prioritize the key influencers for the target region, which should become Dramix® specifiers on the long term
• Understand the needs of the target influencers and identify the value qualitatively and quantitatively that Bekaert can offer. Focus on long term and unexplored advantages. Outside-in oriented, not being limited to the focus
• Increase system share and convert the Precast market from conventional reinforcement into fiber reinforcement utilizing a well-defined market and product-segmented approach
• Develop strong market dynamics understanding to feed into the business strategy
• Report on competitor activity, trends
About You
Essential skills & competences
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science/Economics/Business Administration. MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 6-8 years applicable precast concrete experience, including several years in a combination of product, sales, and business development in the Construction Industry
• Demonstrated technical and commercial understanding of the complete precast concrete industry
• Knowledge of general building processes and specification development
• Experience with using Digital Marketing techniques, including CRM, to drive results
• Structured and consequent way-of-working
• Understanding of general concrete design methodology, but no actual design experience is required
• Business storytelling, public speaking and active listening
• Capability to connect with a variety of profiles: high-level managers, technical experts, purchasers, operational project managers
• Teamwork (different teams are active in the same market)
• Have work authorization that would permit them to work for Bekaert in the United States
• Willingness and ability to travel 40+% of your time in the USA
