To strengthen Bekaert’s current growth in North America we are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager with strong value-based technical selling skills and previous experience in the construction, engineering, and/or concrete markets. This position will be a key role in the business development of fiber reinforcement and responsible for direct and indirect account development within the assigned regional US territory. The ideal individual will have the proven ability to grow develop markets and seize new opportunities. This is a remote-based opportunity with the preferred candidate residing in the Southern or Central US. This role will report to the Area Sales Manager, Building Products USA.
Your Impact as Business Development Manager:
• Develop new concrete contractors, general contractors, engineers, and owners
• Increase system share and convert the US market from conventional reinforcement into fiber reinforcement driving a well-defined market-segmented approach
• Identify new opportunities within the region and actions to capitalize on these opportunities
• Facilitate the regional business in keeping with an entrepreneurial mindset to expand revenue and profitability
• Develop strong market dynamics understanding to feed into the business strategy
• Recommend new product innovation to successfully grow your business
• Manage existing value chain and established accounts to continually increase market share
• Work with engineers and owners in building product specifications
• Prepare and present technical proposals
• Report on competitor activity, territory forecasting, and territory performance
• Price negotiation to the customer in coordination with Area Sales Manager
• Execute the regional Commercial and Digital Marketing plans in line with X+1 growth plans
• Coordination of superior customer service with respective marketing operations administrator
About You
Essential skills & competences
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science/Economics/Business Administration. MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 6-8 years applicable experience including several years in a combination of product, sales, and business development in the Construction Industry
• Demonstrated technical and commercial understanding of fiber-reinforced concrete (experience in Synthetic fibers is required)
• Knowledge of general building processes and specification development
• Experience with using Digital Marketing techniques including CRM to drive results
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Bekaert in the United States
• Willingness and ability to travel 40-50% of your time in the USA
