About the role

Your Impact as General Manager Central America and Caribbean Region:


  • Manage the General Management of BIA Alambres as a manufacturing site in the CCA region, including the BEGUA Sales office.
  • Directly supervise the Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Safety, HR, and Finance areas.
  • Be accountable for P&L and short- and long-term strategic planning.
  • Ensure the achievement of all KPIs agreed by the Board of directors.
  • Represent the entity legally and ensure compliance with all financial documents and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate operational, supply chain, and critical procurement activities.
  • Support all commercial strategy and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Strategically manage employees and ensure talent management and compliance.
  • Manage procurement of wire rod and support coordination of WIP and finished products.
  • Control inventory management and cost budget.
  • Ensure total compliance of the entity and region with all legal processes and Bekaert Guidelines.


  • Make key decisions within the entity and region.
  • Manage the leading team and monitor metrics and indicators.
  • Request increased levels and credit releases.
  • Approve purchase and release requests in FIORI/SAP system.
  • Support Sales budget execution and management of the marketing budget.


  • Remain aware of relevant information about clients and the industry in which they operate.
  • Attend to clients with attention problems, disagreements, or discomfort.
  • Stabilize commercial relationships with clients, manage doubts and complaints, and handle objections.


About You

Essential skills & competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration with training in Marketing or Sales.
  • Master or specialization in Business/Management.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in management positions.
  • Extensive experience in the hardware channel, construction, industrial or agricultural sector in Centro America and the Caribbean.
  • Results-oriented, with knowledge of statistical and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to manage application software in a Windows environment and knowledge of market strategies.
  • Advanced or native oral and written English, with excellent customer service, teamwork, time management, negotiation, conflict management, leadership, proactivity, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and autonomous leader.
  • networking with the steel processing and manufacturing players in the regions
