Role:

This position is responsible for assisting the Payroll/ Total Rewards/Human Resources Teams on a corporate-wide basis, with the administration and implementation of the Corporation's human resources and total rewards programs, managing disability programs, Payroll functions, and many other HR projects.   Duties will be shared with the Total Rewards/Payroll/ Human Resources Teams and cross training among members is expected.

 

This position will be based in our Corporate Office, Marietta, GA

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Basic knowledge of payroll process including calculations, processing, software, reports, and problem solving for the U.S. and Canada
  • Back up for processing the Corporate Payroll, including entering or checking new hires/maintenance, gathering timesheets and preparing for import into the system, creating and sending DDA file to bank, printing check and DDA’s, and sending the 401k file for processing to Prudential
  • Back up for processing location payrolls including creating and sending DDA file to bank, printing checks and DDA’s, and sending 401k file for processing to Prudential/Empower
  • Prepare and/or review all tax payments and reports (next day, monthly, quarterly, and annually).  This includes all federal, state, and local withholding taxes, federal and state unemployment taxes, and all related tax returns.
  • Handle garnishments, payroll related benefit payments to vendors, and 401k deposits.
  • Request/review/update new SUI tax rates for each state for each year for each company code
  • Assist in the Year End Process for the US and Canada taxes including annual federal, state, and local reconciliations and filings
  • Provide ongoing assistance and support to users of the Ultipro Software/UKG.  This includes trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Create payroll reports as required and balance expatriate figures to Finance/accounting (monthly).
  • File and  coordinate all returned W-2 copies for current year or past years and distribute upon request.
  • Enter all changes related to 401(k) plan as submitted by vendor.
  • Prepare balances and distribute reports as required
  • Maintain car logs and calculation of imputed car income 2 times per year for tax purposes
  • Research necessary requirements for new state and local tax registrations and setup new state/local tax account
  • Prepare and request new vendor set up for SAP systems using the SOLVE system
  • Set up newly hired employees in MyTCB
  • Process NEI invoices received.  Forward information to Accounting, A/P and appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor Payroll mailbox – responsible for daily requests from locations and forwarding to appropriate person when needed.
  • Perform/participate in various projects and other duties as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor and/or Total Rewards Manager.

 

BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION:

  • Assist in planning of annual Health & Wellness Fair for all locations
  • Assist with annual Open Enrollment preparation
  • Monthly premium reports
  • Disability calculations
  • Prepare invoice payments
  • Back up for UltiPro software system administration
  • Office planning and HR related events of the Marietta Office
  • Prepare and distribute quarterly census
  • Cross train within Total Rewards and HR Teams as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five years’ experience maintaining Payroll/HR files and processing payrolls. 
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, accept responsibility for assigned duties and willingness to expand knowledge. 
  • Eager to grow with an HR operation and contribute with our team
  • Experience with Ultipro/UKG software preferred but not necessary (if previous experience with other payroll/HR software)
  • Basic knowledge of Payroll principles and practices including knowledge of federal and state laws
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Program Suite (with advanced knowledge of Excel in particular) and being able to utilize these tools for heightened efficiency in their day-to-day work.
  • Ability to problem solve, detail oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of management inside of the organization.
  • Possesses strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to situations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents
