Purpose and Mission

Responsible for for creating, updating, and maintaining technical drawings, 2D/3D models, and product documentation to support manufacturing operations, product development, and customer requirements. The role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of technical documentation while complying with Bekaert standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulations.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Create and modify detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models using approved CAD software.
  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related engineering documentation.
  • Ensure all technical drawings comply with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage drawing revisions and maintain document control according to established procedures.
  • Provide technical drafting support.  
  • Assist in implementing engineering changes and product modifications.
  • Update technical documentation following design, process, or product changes.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by preparing and maintaining the required documentation.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of technical drawing principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar. Autodesk Inventor constitutes an advantage
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is an advantage.

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience in a drafting, technical design, or engineering support role is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an advantage.

Qualifications and Education

  • Technical secondary education or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field.
