Business Development Manager - Automotive, Consumer & Equipment

In order to strengthen the current growth, we are looking for a results-orientated Business Development Manager with strong technical aptitude and ability to identify value based solutions.  Previous experience in the automotive, consumer or equipment markets is preferred.   The ideal individual will have the proven ability to grow developing markets and seize new opportunities. This function is located at our plant in Orrville, OH and will report directly to the Segment Leader Automotive, Consumer & Equipment.

                                         

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

Oversee direct and indirect business development within the North American Region.  Responsibilities include identifying new markets and cusotmers for Bekaert’s specialty wire business.  This will include managing a pipeline of quotes and trials while developing new opportunities to grow volume and profit pool.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze market and customer opportunities considering volume, profit pool and market CAGR
  • Identify new opportunities within the region and actions to capitalize on these opportunities
  • Suggest new product innovation to successfully grow our business
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to expand revenue and profitability in the region
  • Work with customer’s engineers, purchasing agents and owners to develop new products and quantify the value proposition of the materials
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
  • Prepare and present technical proposals
  • Work closely with Bekaert engineering to confirm ability to meet customer specifications

 

 

Skills, competencies and requirements:

 

  • BA/BS degree (preferably Engineering, Metalurgy, and/or Marketing)
  • Minimum of 5 years proven business development and/or sales experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel upwards of 30% throughout assigned region of North America
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Concise and accurate decision making abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Administrative skills which are proficient in CRM and Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of PPAP procedures
  • A desire to learn and grow within the organization
  • A competitive mindset and a passion to win
