Purpose and Mission
The Human Resources Generalist contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This position will help with the implementation of services and policies and assists company managers with HR issues and other special projects as needed.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Evaluate HR reports and processes; recommend and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and meet department goals.
- Provide guidance to employees and management on policies, procedures, and regulations; support corrective actions and coaching.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and career planning; manage pre-employment checks, orientations, and new hire paperwork.
- Maintain HRIS, employee records, and compliance with legal and organizational standards (e.g., HIPAA, FMLA).
- Administer payroll, timecards, and employee leave processes; ensure accurate timekeeping and compliance.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, communication programs, and social events; address morale and culture concerns through interviews and feedback.
- Coordinate apprenticeship programs, referral bonuses, and visitor hospitality; manage internal job postings and policy updates.
- Conduct investigations, manage complaints, and participate in leadership meetings; prepare reports and recommend solutions.
Skills
- Two years’ Human Resources experience in Manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of Database software: HRIS systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Microsoft Office; Ability to quickly learn new programs as needed.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- HR Certification preferred.
Previous Experience
- Proven experience as an HR officer, administrator, or other HR position.
Qualifications and Education
- Associate degree (A. A.) preferred.
