RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Job Duties:
Under general direction, responsible for measuring and analyzing the reliability of the design, materials, processes, cost of maintaining equipment. Measures reliability of plant equipment and processes. Advises design engineering team on selection of materials. Maintains procedures and presents reports on failures, analysis, and corrective actions. Drives reliability performance on the site using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques. Monitors existing PM/PdM programs, historical trends and KPI data for early identification and resolution of reliability issues. May also recommend changes in the selection and application of production components. Has knowledge of ideas, practices, and processes. May act as internal consultant providing technical guidance on most complex projects.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis efforts in plant with the main responsibility to collect and analyze the data, facilitate the meeting with supervisor, cell mans and together with the team define actions to eliminate recurrent problems.
- Lead the weekly /monthly review of equipment “bad actors” creating action plans for increasing reliability and monitoring performance vs. plans (measured by unplanned downtime, including lost time hours, costs to repair and lost production, MTBF for critical equipment)
- Coach the plant maintenance team to get Root Cause Analysis on daily routine as way of working.
- Based on the results from the analysis define/update lubrication, preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Identify operational and maintenance changes that will provide the most cost-effective solution trough Improvement Maintenance execution,
- Coordinate the set-up of training plans and create standard training documents. Set-up guidelines and follow-up in order to have skilled maintenance employees in the plant and region (maintenance technicians, specialists, engineers & managers).
- Support SAP plant maintenance activities to make sure that SAP PM is used as an effective tool for analysis.
- Ensure that feedback to the engineering design department’s machine owners and global GAMM domain owners is given for BENG equipment through EMR procedure.
- Share all relevant information via GAMM SharePoint, fostering a culture of sharing amongst all & copying in the region and worldwide by all team members. Especially the best practices have to be documented & uploaded to the SharePoint.
- Monthly status reporting of improvement projects + follow-up of actions.
- Make detailed maintenance cost analyses on equipment level and identify possible cost savings projects. Work together with the plant maintenance team and global GAMM domain experts on cost reduction projects and realize defined X+1 cost savings in the plant.
- Realize plant reliability maintenance KPI’s, make plan & define plant projects, monitor progress of KPI scorecard, delegate ownership, communicate, report (including to central GAMM), escalate when bottlenecks, avoid sub-optimization.
- Align with plant Maintenance managers on the targets to be put in the personal PDR goals of the plant maintenance leaders + give feedback during mid-year and year-end PDR evaluation.
- Benchmark plant with others (compares, share and introduce the best practice from other plants). Always check & use the worldwide standard & benchmark as reference + feedback to global.
- Provide troubleshooting support to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews.
- Actively provide reliability input to the Engineering Group for new equipment design, specifications and purchase.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED and Four Year Degree (related to job function) or Four Years job related experence
