Purpose and Mission
- Responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, high-quality, and safe manufacturing.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environmental Support
Assist the SHE Manager in implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs in accordance with Bekaert standards and regulatory requirements. (2) Participate in routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; document findings and track corrective actions to closure. (3) Support incident investigations by gathering information, preparing reports, and assisting with root cause analysis. (4) Maintain SHE documentation, permits, records, and compliance files. (5) Support emergency response activities, including drills, equipment checks, and communication updates. (6) Assist with environmental compliance tasks such as waste management, recycling programs, and emissions or discharge reporting.
Training Management
(7) Serve as the site administrator for all SHE‑related training programs. (8) Maintain and update the site training matrix to ensure alignment with job requirements and regulatory standards. (9) Schedule, track, and document required training for new hires, contractors, and existing employees. (10) Coordinate classroom, online, and hands‑on training sessions with internal trainers and external providers. (11) Monitor training completion rates and follow up with supervisors to ensure timely compliance. (12) Maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) and prepare reports for audits, leadership reviews, and regulatory inspections. (13) Assist in developing or updating training materials, presentations, and communication tools.
Communication & Engagement
(14) Support SHE communication efforts, including safety alerts, Performance Dialogue meetings, e-board updates, and monthly reporting. (15) Assist with safety campaigns, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives. (16) Provide administrative support for SHE meetings, committees, and documentation.
Skills
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in monitoring and inspecting products.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with operating and maintaining production machinery.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods
Previous Experience
- Prior experience in safety, training coordination, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Qualifications and Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
