I. Purpose of the Role

The position is responsible for driving finance controllership activities across BIPL and BEPL, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely financial closing, statutory and group compliance, audit coordination, direct tax compliance, treasury support, payroll accounting, and intercompany governance.
The role partners with Business Unit Controllers, Shared Service Teams, Group Finance, auditors, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders to support business operations, strengthen financial controls, drive process improvements, and deliver timely, accurate, and compliant financial information.

II. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting 
• Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with Group accounting policies. 
• Manage Group reporting, intercompany accounting, cost allocation structures, reconciliations, payroll accounting, employee benefit accounting, and lease accounting. 
• Review key balance sheet accounts, journal entries, provisions, accruals, and closing adjustments to ensure financial integrity. 
• Coordinate with Shared Service Teams (TCS), Business stakeholders, and Group Finance for timely completion of reporting deliverables and issue resolution. 
• Ensure compliance with Group reporting timelines and financial governance requirements. 

2. Audit, Compliance & Governance
• Coordinate Statutory, IFRS, Internal, Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Cost Audits, ensuring timely completion and closure of audit observations. 
• Act as finance coordinator for auditors, consultants, tax authorities, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders. 
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and Group reporting requirements while supporting secretarial and legal compliance. 
• Maintain audit readiness through structured documentation, internal controls, and compliance tracking. 

3. Direct Tax
• Manage direct tax compliance, advance tax, deferred tax accounting, tax reporting, and return-related activities. 
• Coordinate tax assessments, notices, litigation support, and consultant interactions. 
• Manage quarterly tax reporting, Group tax packs and intercompany tax matters. 
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and coordinate with Group Tax teams and external advisors. 

4. Finance Process Improvement & Systems Support
• Drive finance process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. 
• Support SAP implementation, testing, system enhancements, finance transformation projects, and process standardization. 
• Develop finance procedures, process documentation, and best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. 

5. Team Coordination & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate finance deliverables across Shared Service Teams (TCS), Business Units, Group Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders. 
• Provide functional guidance and operational support to finance resources, ensuring timely execution of finance activities. 
• Lead knowledge transfer, process transition, onboarding, and stakeholder coordination to ensure business continuity. 
• Drive collaboration across finance and business functions to resolve operational issues and improve process effectiveness.

III. Skills & Competencies

Education:
• Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience:
• 10+ years experience.
