A Data security program manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data security program, including risk assessments, incident response planning, and security audits.
Key responsibilities may include :
- Oversee and manage Data classification, data leakage prevention protection (DLP) policies, procedures, and technologies to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information, to keep the Bekaert data safe & compliant
- Acting as an account manager for the business (single point of contact) for all data security related matters
- Working with business stakeholders to develop and implement data classification and data protection awareness and training programs to educate employees on proper data handling and security practices.
- Conducting regular assessments of the organization's data classification, DLP policies and technologies to ensure their effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
- Organizing / managing data security incident management process including conducting investigations , validating incidents with business risk owners & and formulation of lessons learned to prevent future incidents.
- Maintaining accurate records of data leakage incidents and reporting them to relevant stakeholders, including management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Collaborating with other IT and business teams to ensure data leakage protection is integrated into the design and implementation of new systems and applications.
- Overseeing / managing the external partners who deploy , run and maintain the data classification & DLP technologies within Bekaert, to detect and prevent data leakage.
- Collaborating on the DLP rule development lifecycle including policy development, response rules, and maintenance.
- Coordinating the tuning of DLP to reduce false positives and improve detection rates
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of security controls and processes, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest data classification & DLP technologies, trends, and threats, and recommending solutions to address emerging risks.
- Ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
Candidate will be part of the Global CISO team of the Bekaert organization, working closely together with Data governance & Data compliancy teams.
Experience :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data security, with a proven track record
- Previous broad project management experience is desirable
- Experience in customer facing roles
- Strong affinity with general cyber security best practices , certification is a plus
- Strong affinity with data security
- general knowledge of IT landscapes, interfaces and Cyber Security Controls framework
- strong technical subject matter expertise (architect / specialist level) with DLP is a plus
Skills :
- Ability to build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, self-motivation, personal drive and high energy are highly valuable for this position
- Ability to understand business processes and to translate business requirements in technical requirements for the data security team to implement
- Good understanding of Insider Threat Management, DLP and Data Governance program
- Ability to understand and navigate an existing DLP policy structure
- Ability to understand and improve existing DLP rulesets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work within diverse, global, virtual team
