IT Risk & Compliance Manager

Purpose and Mission

Bekaert is seeking a strategic and practical professional to lead IT risk and compliance management across the Bekaert Advanced Digital Solutions (ADS) organization. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in IT risk assessment, IT compliance frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration, who can drive the maturity of IT risk and compliance capabilities and ensure alignment with regulatory, vendor, and organizational requirements.

You will be accountable for implementing an integrated risk and compliance framework, overseeing all IT-related risk and compliance issues—including information security, privacy, business continuity, identity management, user access, and data integrity—and partnering with legal, audit, and corporate compliance teams to ensure organizational alignment.

• Partners with: Cyber security team, IT infrastructure team, Legal, Internal and External Audit, Corporate Riska and Compliance, IT Product & Platform Groups
• Key stakeholder groups: IT leadership team, Corporate Risk & Compliance team, Corporate Legal team, External Audit.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

IT Risk & Compliance Management

• Assess and oversee all IT-related risk and compliance issues across the organization.
• Implement and mature an integrated risk and compliance framework for ADS.
• Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with non-IT professionals (legal, audit, corporate compliance) to ensure organizational alignment.

Internal & External Audits and Controls

• Coordinate internal and external IT audits (e.g., IT General Controls, IATF, Financial Audit Data Extraction).
• Ensure audit readiness and facilitate timely resolution of audit findings.
• Lead consistency checks and internal controls to assure data accuracy and compliance.

Regulatory, Vendor, and Organizational Compliance

• Identify and maintain all IT-related regulatory, vendor, and organizational compliance requirements.
• Facilitate creation and modification of compliance policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate necessary updates to policies and controls.
• Oversee vendor compliance and due diligence activities with Procurement

Process Compliance

• Work with IT and business representatives to translate organizational goals into IT compliance requirements.
• Increase process compliance maturity by maintaining policy documentation and ensuring accessibility and periodic review.

Business Partnering

• Support business managers with tools and expertise for IT risk compliance initiatives.
• Manage IT compliance-related budget in line with organizational risk appetite.

Previous Experience

• Proven experience in relevant industry risk and compliance management.
• Experience in conducting risk and compliance assessments within a corporate setting.
• Track record of developing and submitting IT audit and compliance reports to governing bodies.
• Experience in planning, organizing, and developing IT policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills, especially with government/legal agencies and auditors.
• Demonstrated ability to apply IT knowledge to solve compliance issues.
• General understanding of business theory, processes, management, budgeting, and office operations.
• Broad understanding of modern IT organizations, including data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software, integration, and outsourced systems.
• Solid understanding of project management principles.
• Ability to translate organizational goals into compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Education

Undergraduate degree in Law, Computer Science, or Business Administration; graduate degree preferred.
