Lab Technician

I. Purpose of the Role

BITC is a technical center aimed at providing value to customers through services such as new product development, lab testing and value-added services like tire forensics, new test method development and advanced problem-solving. Your role is to strengthen these value-added services for internal as well as external customers and to support internal projects by performing the following tasks: 

II. Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform testing and analysis which includes both mechanical, material, and chemical properties based on the plan of specific required tests for the given customer and as explained by the Lab Engineer/Lab Supervisor
• It includes raw material (Wire Rod +ISC wire), filament, wire, cord. 
• Enter the results in LIMS.
• Skillful and proper handling of different instruments/equipment in labs to test the samples for different parameters- 

a] Zwick (destructive testing of SC, Wire). Range of clamps and different set of conditions used for the various tests conducted on the machine.
b] Mechanical test i.e, Linear density tester, Torsion tester, Flexion tester, Different micrometers, Profile Projector, Bending tests, Penta-bend.
c] Adhesion testing as per different curing and pull-out conditions and different mold size as specified by the customer and as explained by the stakeholders

• Do the calibrations of the equipment in lab and perform MSA as per plan & maintain record. 
• Maintain lab equipment & the laboratory in clean and neat condition. Follow all the safety related guidelines while working in the Lab

Must Have
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Customer focused attitude
• Can work on Microsoft Office tools
• Good analytical skills and soft skills
Prefer to have
• Experience in Mechanical testing
• Acquainted with basic applications of products produced.
