DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
VOC – Handling of customer specific requirements (5 %)
• Determine the product tolerances, in function of the customer requirements and the existing process capabilities, together with the Product & Development Manager.
• Translate these product tolerances in process parameters, taking into consideration other aspects such as cost, safety, etc.
• Ensure deployment of customer specific requirements on shop floor or to support functions
• Review customer manual and transfer requirement in to BIPL QMS.
Analyze customer complaints and implement corrective actions. (8D) (10 % )
• Ensure detailed analysis of each customer complaint (see also: complaint procedure), identify the root causes and give feed-back to the responsible Sales Representative / customer
• If needed, visit the customer to better understand the complaint
• Frequently make Pareto analyses of customer complaints, propose corrective actions to solve the root causes, agree on these with the Operations Manager/CFT and implement these together with the Operations Manager/CFT.
• Identify the Chronic issues and make plan to eliminate the issues.
• Promote risk-based approach to avoid customer complaints
Continuously improve the quality & Process (10 %)
• Be a part of monthly Global quality review meeting to understand the potential risk and access the risk on shop floor
• Start projects to achieve these improved product properties or cost savings by doing trials with new raw materials, new or adjusted processes, etc.
• Give timely input to Global PO team on the identified risks
• Ensure the global Lesson learn implementation as per plan
System Compliance related (10%)
• -Responsible for Plan, develop, implement and maintain quality systems & procedures conforming to: IATF-16949 & Global Bekaert quality system
• -Act as the Management Representative (MR) for QMS of the plants in addition to the regular responsibilities for Campus
• -Interact with CQA on the different Quality issues, Quality meets and Global quality strategies.
• -Develop, Implement, control and maintain the quality documentation system in the plant.
• -System for the efficient recording, reporting, storage & retrieval system for the test records in the laboratory and production.
- Sampling methods & procedures for in process & final product.
• -Sampling methods for the incoming material, sampling frequency, checks & evaluations.
• -System for the lab sample preservation, Record preservations and retrieval systems.
• -Review for the in process testing frequency for different parameters in production and Lab.
• -Monitoring of the quality trends for the different quality parameters tested in-process and in the laboratory
• -SPC implementation, Cp, Cpk calculations for the critical process & product parameters
• -Conducting the Quality awareness program for the operators & quality systems program for the staff
• -Supplier quality audits & supplier quality systems developments, Supplier evaluations and selections.
• -Preparation & implementation of the internal quality audits programs.
• -Internal welder qualification & certification program for the operators
- Lead Customer Audits, Certification & OPS / CQA audits etc.
• -Coordination with Purchase, CQA for indigenous supplies of the Auxiliary (plastic bags, straps cardboard boxes) equipment
• -Inspection of the incoming Auxiliary equipment
- Act as Document Approval for the Steel cord unit.
- Calibration schedules, executions for all test equipment’s, in process test equipment’s etc.
- Measurement system analysis (MSA) Plan and execution for Lab equipment’s and instruments.
• -Monitoring of Gauge R & R and Measurement Index (MI) for lab equipment’s.
- PPAP documents for Customers as on requirements.
- Customer audits – follow-ups and corrective actions.
- Managing Std samples, Std cords, STD material from CQA for quality related testing and follow-ups.
- Conducting and participating in cross check programs for various Lab tests Within Bekaert & With customer.
Supplier Quality Assurance (10%)
• -Raw material specification handling and finalizing in coordination with CQA
• -Raw material supplier quality report and shipment approvals
• -Acceptance criteria for borderline situations for test report parameters.
• -Complaints handling and communication with raw material, auxiliary material suppliers for quality issues in supplier materials. Take CAPA from Suppliers.
• -Local supplier developments for Aux materials.
• Supplier specs and Bekaert Procures follow ups for supplier evaluations, selections.
• -Supplier audits and vendor rating monitoring
• Receiving Inspection, test methods, evaluations, rejection analysis
• -Approval criteria follow ups, Global approval for Local suppliers.
• -Follow-ups with CQA for local supplier sample analysis and global list for approval.
• -Give lot clearance for raw material & aux. material.
• Support to supplier development activities
On line process control and problem solving.(10%)
• Identifying critical parameter for process.
• Follow and define critical parameter in the process.
• Steer the process depending upon the process related problem
• In-process quality parameter checks, frequencies.
• Test Methods, Document control etc.
• In-process test check trend monitoring
• Test equipment’s ordering, follow ups,
• Calibrations, verifications and MSA.
• Operator quality awareness programs
• Operator training for quality, quality system and Lab activities.
• Approval of Process documents Control Plan, Process Plans, Quality Plan (Raw Material, Bought out, & Final) & Process
Drive quality culture in organization (10%)
• Deployment of First-time right culture
• Promote Innovations & Kaizens
• Work towards Customer centric organization
• Developed New Process engineer, Customer stewards, Quality engineer.
Documentation and control.(5%)
• Ensure follow up of APQP & PPAP.
• Ensure effective document control on shop floor with latest changes.
• Develop and authorize the PFD, FMEA and CP needed for different processes.
Final product control monitoring (5%)
• Ensure compliance and control on inspection plan, test frequency
• Review product parameter trend and Ppk level
• Define projects based on the Ppk level
• Giving clearance / holding back dispatches for the quality reasons
• Determine the lot that needs to be dispatched to the customer
• Ensure all the production records of the material being dispatched are available prior to actual dispatch
• Monitor the trend & do analysis product wise and customer wise for all the test results. & monitor CPk,Ppk for all parameters. Take appropriate actions to improve.
• Clearance for the Shipment of the material to the customer
• Stopping the shipments in case of nonconformity.
• Coordination and daily follow up on dispatches and Lab activities.
• Customer sampling and test report for all the shipments by approving the shipment /Lot.
• Lot wise samples, process sheets, test reports and test data preservation and retrieval.
• In case of non-conformity, re -test, Re-sampling and coordination.
• Availability of correct and updated specs, Procedures and test methods at testing stations.
Lab related activities (10%)
• Develop, update & implement quality systems & procedures in the lab.
• Ensure that the tests & the test methods are followed as per the Bekaert specifications.
• Measurement system for the different test equipment
• Preparing & implementing the calibration schedules for the different equipment in the lab
• Budget for the capital equipment required, up-gradation of existing equipment, Lab consumables, chemicals etc.
• Follow-up with Sales and marketing on any specific customer requirement for lab and sample related activities.
• Follow-up with BTC, CQA and other plants for cross check programs, test helps and coordination.
• Measurement system analysis for Lab and process test equipment’s Like R & R, Verifications, MI etc.
• Test methods, Test equipment’s, Procedures, std samples and ref samples follow ups and stock updates
• Lab testing activity follows ups, coordination in line with dispatch and
Production.
• Lab testing follow up and coordination with Lab Executive and Lab
Technicians.
• Develop system and limit the operating cost of Lab by developing test equipment accessories locally.
Product Safety responsible (5%)
• To act as a Product Safety Responsible to Product Safety & Conformity Representative for the plant
Management representative (MR) (5%)
• To plan & execute internal audits(product, process, system audits) in the plants
• Ensure the process needed for QMS are established, implemented & maintained.
• Ensuring the promotion of the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
• Plan & Coordinate management review meeting.
• To maintain record of Management Review
• To track and record progress of actions decided in Management Review
• To issue, review and make changes in the quality manual and Procedures
• To liaise with Third Party and Customers on the matters related to Audits & Quality Management System.
• To communicate the quality policy and to make it understood within the organization
• Ensure customer satisfaction is monitored with the help of Sales dept.
• To plan, report and co-ordinate quality management system audits and required corrective actions.
• To plan, initiate and verify performance of quality system and to reporting to Management for review and to ensure continual suitability of quality policy.
• To collect information on non-conforming product for analyzing the same and to coordinate & ensure implementation of corrective and preventive action.
Lead, develop & manage the local Quality team (5%)
- Know the weaknesses and strengths of the subordinates, make optimal use of the strengths, and organize training to work on the weaknesses.
- Continuously give support and feed-back to the subordinates during PPM process
- Ensure development plan for team
- Ensure development of quality awareness and culture within organisation
Technical training:
-
Ensure competency mapping, training need identification, training effectiveness for all blue collars.
-
Ensure effective induction training to all new blue collars and technical staff.
-
Review and upgradation of SOP and VSOP as per customer claim action and FMEA review.
ESSENTIAL SKILL & COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical/ Materials / Mechanical Engineering
• Good Communication Skills
• Good Organizational Skills
• Thorough knowledge of Technology
• Thorough knowledge of the machines
• Hands on experience in handling the machines
• Open minded, mainly open to adjust to changing work environment
• To be able to adapt to different culture and work together with an international work group
• Min 8 to 10 years of experience in the manufacturing domain
