About the role

Your Impact as Team Leader

I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Ensure Safety First on the floor.
• Ensure “Quality Always” is followed on the shop floor.
• Execution of production plan on the shop floor
• Monitor the operator performance in the shifts.
• Ensure the flow of material for smooth functioning of production.
• Ensure the defined process & quality checks are carried out at defined frequency.
• Define job priorities for the Maintenance and Process depending on the dispatch plan.
• Ensuring clean, healthy & safe working environment on the shop floor.
• Ensure the new PTs are functioning effectively and revert back to trainer for improvements as and when needed.
• Ensure dispatch happen on time.
• Implementation of TPM on the floor.

II. ROLE DESCRIPTION

Plan the changeover. TL to fill MRR for changeover & put the checklist on machine. Ensure for availability of  manpower:

• Allocate manpower as per availability in the various areas. Plan the production in Production System.
• Plan the machines as per priority.
• Inform HR about the repetitive absenteeism related people. Ensure flow of material as per Kanban system.
• Maintain WIP, to avoid excess or shortages.
• Know the strengths and weakness of the team members. Prepare a matrix of Strength and Weakness and action plan for the improvement.

Detecting problems and acting on this for solution:

• Taking rounds and observe work is been carried as assigned.

Documentation Control:

• Ensure that all the procedures described in the BIPL quality manual are followed & implemented
• Ensure that the correct version / edition of the documents are available on the shop floor
• As a qualified internal auditor ensures the right systems and procedures are followed.
• Face the audits and ensure that CAPA are taken on time.

TPM Implementation:

• Mould the operators in the TPM culture by making the aware of the basics of TPM.
• Carry out the tasks related to TPM.
• Training and implementation of “One point lessons”

Ensure safety is being followed in the shop floor.:

• Following up for safety norms are being followed. Fill up the accident /incident report.
• Ensure that the machines and auxiliary equipment used in production is in safe working condition.
• Ensure the actions decided for safety are implemented and followed by the team members.

Guiding the KPI teams in the shop floor.:

• Leading KPI team to achieve the defined objectives. Guiding the teams to come up with logical, workable solutions.
• Providing tools for data collection and data analysis.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Diploma Mechanical with 2-3 years experience in production, manpower handling.
• Machine and process knowledge.
• Systems knowledge
• Good analytical ability.
• Quick grasping power.
• Practical approach with a clear view of the objective
• Ability to reason logically.
• Open minded, mainly open to adjust to changing work environment.
