Purpose and Mission
As a Key Account Manager, you are the strategic partner for our most valuable customers. You orchestrate solutions across segments, ensuring a seamless experience and unlocking long-term value. You lead with trust, act with integrity, and think boldly to grow these relationships.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic relationship management: Serve as the single point of contact for key accounts purchasing across multiple product groups.
- Value creation: Develop and execute account strategies that align with customer goals and Bekaert’s growth ambitions.
- Cross-segment coordination: Collaborate with the Key account leader and segment leaders to ensure unified service delivery.
- Financial accountability: Monitor account receivables and ensure timely payments.
- Forecasting and insights: Provide accurate forecasts and strategic insights into account performance and potential.
- Opportunity development: Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across segments.
- Bold negotiation: Lead contract discussions with confidence and integrity.
- Customer advocacy: Represent the voice of the customer internally to drive continuous improvement
Expectations:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow revenue across all product segments.
- Defend and expand existing multi-segment accounts through value-based selling and solution-oriented engagement.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing key accounts and through strategic partnerships.
- Maintain healthy order pipeline for the key account, in coordination with Customer Service team
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring a seamless and consistent customer experience.
- Monitor and manage account receivables; ensure timely payments and resolve financial issues in coordination with Credit Department.
- Travel as needed to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (estimated 50% travel).
- Lead price negotiations and contract renewals with a focus on long-term value creation and profitability, in accordance with Key Account Leader’s pricing strategy.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts and strategic insights for each key account.
- Ensure all key accounts meet or exceed sales goals and expectations.
- Coordinate with regional Key Account Managers and Key Account Leader to align on service delivery and account strategy.
- Launch new solutions and innovations with key customers, acting as a trusted advisor and growth partner.
- Report on competitor activity, account performance, and market trends relevant to key accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure superior service and responsiveness.
- Resolve escalated customer issues in partnership with manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams.
- Advocate for the customer internally while upholding Bekaert’s values of integrity, trust, agility, and boldness.
- Support the development of long-term strategic agreements that secure Bekaert’s position as a preferred partner.
Skills
- BA/BS degree (preferably Engineering, Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing)
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience
- Willingness and ability to travel upwards of 50%
- Experience in lifting operations such as seaports, steel making, cranes industry is preferred
- Experience in steel ropes is a plus

Previous Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or related roles
