Summary of Electrical Duties:

  1. Repairs, modifications, installations, testing and calibration of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and PLC systems on the floor.
  2. Maintains plant electrical, diagnose malfunctions and take appropriate actions to correct malfunctions expeditiously. This includes WWT & cooling water systems.
  3. Participates in all electrical, electronic and instrumentation troubleshooting and repairing of equipment.
  4. Tests electrical and electronic components and circuits to locate defects using various test equipment
  5. Maintains records of repair, calibration and various tests.
  6. Maintains equipment in a clean and order condition.
  7. Proves proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical prints and electronic schematics.
  8. Demonstrates knowledge of AC and DC motors and their associated control circuits.
  9. Demonstrates the ability to use and interpret various types of test equipment, volt-ohm-meters, amprobes, frequency counters, signal generators, etc.
  10. Demonstrates through knowledge of solid state components, characteristics, functions, and selection of substitute devices.
  11. Substitutes to the component level using acceptable industry practices.
  12. Exhibits experiences and proficiency in performing electrical wiring, component and assembly installation.
  13. Exhibit knowledge of and follows lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  14. Demonstrates very good technical knowledge, installing, programming, and troubleshooting of programmable logic devices, must be capable of modifying and expanding existing controllers.
  15. Assists other maintenance personnel in electrical maintenance duties, upon request.
  16. Any additional tasks assigned that are not unsafe or unethical.

Summary of Mechanical Duties:

  1. Installs, maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots machine failures.
  2. Diagnose malfunctions through use of observation, drawing, schematics, technical manuals, manufacturer manuals, experience and verbal or written instructions.
  3. Performs preventative maintenance and calibration at times on equipment, using applicable SOP’s and/or work instructions.
  4. Applies lock-out/tag-out procedure when applicable.
  5. Abilities to troubleshoot and repair bearings/seals, hydraulics, pneumatics, and clutches.
  6. Performs tests on mechanical components and systems.
  7. Maintains accurate records of repairs and/or calibrations.
  8. Performs routine piping work – cutting, threading, fitting, hanging, etc.
  9. Performs welding of parts, machines, pipes and materials along with using a cutting torch.
  10. Ability to operate shop equipment and tools – welder, cutting torch, hydraulic press, band saws, drill press, grinders, hand tools, and fork truck.
  11. Installs new equipment as directed by supervisor and per manufacturer specifications following all applicable codes.
  12. Operates mobile equipment to facilitate installation and maintenance efforts.
  13. Maintains equipment and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  14. Uses assistance of additional personnel in installation, modification, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  15. Communicates information to other maintenance technicians and supervisors to contribute to effective, ongoing maintenance operations.
  16. Assists other maintenance personnel in mechanical maintenance duties, upon request.
  17. Any additional tasks assigned that are not unsafe or unethical.
  18. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position for the above-noted electrical and mechanical duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  1. Industrial related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Two years’ experience.
  3. GED or high school diploma.
