IT Governance Manager

Purpose and Mission

• Responsible for overseeing and regulating  the organization’s use of IT resources;  ensuring that an organization’s IT resources are managed effectively and align with business objectives.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

The Head of IT Governance and Strategy is responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing IT governance frameworks, portfolio management, and agile delivery practices across the organization. This role ensures alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives, drives compliance with standards, and optimizes delivery performance for both internal IT teams and external service providers. This role will also oversee the cross-team capabilities like master data management.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance

• Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and audit controls.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to governance processes across internal teams and vendors.

IT Portfolio Management

• Lead the planning and prioritization of IT projects and programs to align with strategic objectives.
• Manage the IT investment portfolio, ensuring transparency, value realization, and risk mitigation.
• Provide regular reporting on portfolio performance, resource allocation, and benefits tracking.

Agile Delivery Management

• Drive adoption of agile methodologies across IT delivery teams.
• Oversee delivery performance, ensuring timely and quality outcomes for projects and services.
• Facilitate continuous improvement in delivery processes and collaboration between IT and business stakeholders.

Vendor & Service Provider Management

• Govern relationships with external IT service providers to ensure contractual compliance and service quality.
• Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs for vendor performance.

Master Data Management

• Lead and coach master data maintenance team to ensure business enablement and service quality.
• Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs for master data service from suppliers.

Strategic Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO on governance, strategy, and delivery optimization.
• Contribute to IT strategy development and execution, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT governance, portfolio management, and delivery leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, and agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe).
• Proven experience managing complex IT portfolios and vendor relationships.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Previous Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT governance, risk management, compliance, or a related field.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing IT governance frameworks and policies

Qualifications and Education

• Master’s degree in on Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
