Purpose of the Job

 

Support Bekaert leadership team to identify China business opportunities, organize cross-team discussions, drive decisions and manage project implementation milestones.

Lead and manage China based strategy team to implement critical and strategic local/regional/global projects, including organic, M&A and transformation projects.

Manage and develop a talent pool for the strategy team and further into the China and the global organization.

 

Your Role

 

1. Identify new business growth opportunities to sustain/enhance Bekaert competitive position in China and drive to next level of decisions

-  Build intelligence of industry trends, innovative business models and competitive moves for actionable strategic implications

-  Identify issues / industry development trends that may lead to key risks or opportunities, translate insights into business initiatives

-  Identify needs for strategic projects / initiatives by getting alignment with internal stakeholders, such as CSO, China Leadership Team, BU VPs and other leaders

-  Drive the opportunities / strategic projects to next level of decisions, such as project proposals, cross-team discussions, forums & workshops, ...

-  Drive to build opportunity pipeline / portfolio for Bekaert sustainable growth in China, esp. by working closely with China leaders

 

2. Manage the implementation of strategic local/regional/global projects/initiatives, esp. long-term impactful business opportunities

-  Perform deep-dive analysis with fact-based insights

-  Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses

-  Present business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management

-  Drive to next level of actionable decisions

 

3. Lead or support any major M&A projects in China / Asia region

-  Conduct research on prospective acquisition targets and prepare customized presentations for the management team

-  Lead or assist in the whole M&A process, such as case development, due diligence integration

 

4. Global strategic projects involvement & execution in China, and as sounding board to executives in support of critical initiatives as needed

-  Provide input & feedback, and support resource needs and execution

-  Act as key link for China with HQ, by sharing local insights and sourcing relevant contacts/references

 

5. Manage and develop a talent pool for the strategy team and further into the China and the global organization

 

Your Profile

 

1. 10+ years of solid experience in in-house strategy development and top tier management consulting. Experience in B2B models are preferred.

2. Very strong demonstrated communication / influencing / cross-team collaboration skills, needs to be able to influence at the C-level/VP/Fellow level across the entire organization

3. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects at executing and delivering in a disciplined way - often including project management of cross-functional teams

4. Demonstrated hypothesis-driven, problem-solving orientation with ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative analyses to drive decision making

5. Strategic thinker, being passionate about taking initiatives from ideation to execution
