T&I Project Technician

Purpose and Mission

Responsible for applying engineering principles to solve complex problems, conducting experiments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Understanding Bekaert's products and technology, performs research and development activities to explore new products and technologies.

Utilizes software and engineering technologies to design new products. Works with other engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams, customers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative products to market through robust evaluation and demonstrated testing/performance of products prior to market introduction.

Applies problem solving, project management, collaboration and other ways of working to create acceptable products/services which meet the needs of customers and provide value added business opportunities.

Belong to and form a team with the global innovation team of the business division to leverage technical know-how and market intelligence into the North American Market.

Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.

Effectively communicates with potential new or existing customers to understand their technical needs and to align those needs to Bekaert’s technology.

Responsible for identifying and investigating emerging new product opportunities within a defined range of responsibility.

Maintain knowledge of new trends and products in the appropriate markets.

Collaborate in a team environment to formulate business plans for new products.

Mange product development business plan implementation to fruition while creatively solving product or process design, financial, marketing, or administrative hurdles.

Proficiency in using CAD software, modeling tools, and laboratory equipment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting research and presenting findings.
Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various departments.

Previous Experience

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in T&I, production, or a similar technical role is  required.
• Hands-on experience with conducting tests and trials, as well as implementing new technologies and processes.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field
