About the role

Your Impact as HRBP

 

In this role, as a HR Business Partner you will work with Local Managers and drive proactively all people management matters.  This includes driving a high performance culture, HiPo management & succession planning, organizational effectiveness, engagement & culture, and employee relations.  You will be responsible for the implementation of global Bekaert programs and the coordination of the different HR areas (HR Services, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Organization effectiveness & Culture) to provide an integrated support to your stakeholders.  

This position reports directly to the Regional VP Human Resources for NAM and LATAM, Bekaert and you will be working closely together with your business partners, the Vice President Ropes NAM & the Plant Manager of our Building Products facility.

 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position formulates partnerships across the HR functions to deliver value-added service to the business. In summary, this person will serve as a strategic partner and change agent to create a sustainable leadership which promotes the learning organization philosophy through coaching feedback and continuous development.  

 

Your Essential Job Functions

  • Establish and Drive Human Resource programs/talent initiatives within company functions, ensuring they align with company business objectives.
  • Must be able to work at and within all levels of the company both strategically, operationally, tactical and be able to influence effectively across all levels of the company.
  • Must be able to effectively navigate through ambiguity and follow up with clear communication and process.
  • Will need to create and introduce structure and process without derailing production’s needs.
  • Drive Results and function as a leadership contributor and a partner to the business.
  • Must be able to analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Expertise teams to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, facilitates the resolution of complex employee concerns including discipline if appropriate.  Counsel management on corrective actions ensuring consistency and adherence to company policy.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Is an expert in employment law related matter, including individual and collective terminations, CLA and other local labor law matters.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develops talent, build development and performance plans new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.

 

About You

Essential skills & competencies

  • BA/BS degree in Psychology, Business Administration or related field. SHRM SCP/CP, SPHR or PHR Certification is a plus.  Master Degree is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.  Experience in a union environment required.
  • Knowledge in Labor Relations, Contract Negotiations, and Arbitration Processes
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills, including written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, continuously reaching out to a broad range of functions and levels in the organization.  Stakekholeder management capabilities
  • Comfortable in managing ambiguity and complexity.  Resilient
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independent, able to determine own direction
