Purpose and Mission

To plan, schedule, order and track all components to ensure a world class service to BBRG customers, both external and internal. This role will have responsibility to cover all aspects of materials from order receipt, including cores/reels/wire/and rope terminations.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Planning & Logistic Manager and Manufacturing Manager to ensure all components are ordered and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
  • Process new orders and transfer in Avalon, create rope numbers from enquiry stage , release wire into Avalon to drive Doncaster wire scheduling and lease daily with wire planner at Doncaster.
  • Batching of wire where applicable to maximize machine efficiency.
  • Calculate reel sizes inclusive of special reels and order in line with production plan and requirements.
  • To cover purchase order requests inclusive of rope terminations and track delivery to site.
  •  Compile daily weekly and monthly KPIs to monitor the performance of all planning activities.
  • To actively promote, support and engage in continuous improvement projects and ensure the sustainability of these actions through promotion of best operational practices.
  • Must be able to prioritize daily and weekly tasks, distributing workload and ensuring all departments have sufficient materials to meet daily team targets and immediately highlighting all potential issues to the Planning & Logistics Manager.
  • Proactive approach combined with excellent communication and planning skills is essential, as is an ability to manage multiple different tasks efficiently and effectively.

Skills

  • Candidate should have a good understanding of Production/Manufacturing resource planning and scheduling techniques and other processes associated with the manufacture of Rope products and advantage.
  • Be able to effectively liaise with other departments to look for opportunities to improve production flow, reduce machine set up and idle times. 
  • Candidate must have a structured approach to:
    - Building, amending and maintaining Production, resource and equipment schedules.
    - Certification of products and control of standards
    - Document control and improving/maintaining ISO standards 
  • Be able to effectively liaise with suppliers daily to buy raw materials, track and expedite deliveries to site to ensure resources are available on site for JIT manufacturing schedules.  
  • Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skill and be able to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms. 
  • Support Logistics team to ensure highest MOTIF performance is achieved and maintained.

Previous Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in production planning or a related field.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, operations management, or a related field.
