About the role

As a Plant Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the commercial terms associated with a specific raw material, ensuring that suppliers meet Bekaert's quality, technology, and supply requirements.

Your role will involve supporting the management of all aspects of the supplier relationship, including contract maintenance, target achievement, and the development and execution of category strategies.

Your Impact as Plant Buyer:

• You lead projects in line with EMEA procurement strategy.

• You support purchasing processes with Engineering and Maintenance for Early Supply Involvement.

• You participate in strategy execution, plant meetings, and supply contract monitoring.

• You drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with regional targets.

• You will create and manage tool content such as catalogues and purchase marketplaces, and oversee buying channels with suppliers (e.g., eBuy, SAP).

• You will analyze historical and future business requirements globally for Bekaert within the category, considering quantity and quality.

About You

Essential skills & competencies

• You have minimum bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of procurement or purchasing experience.

• You are a highly motivated and project-driven individual.

• You are a great communicator with positive mindset.

• You demonstrate a solid understanding of purchasing processes and related policies.

• You have strong negotiation and problem solving skills.

• You have strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
