About the role

As a Lead Buyer, you are the primary contact for the Hub, responsible for initiating and assisting in local buying activities aligned with the overall category strategy.

Your Impact as Plant Lead Buyer:

  • You manage plant buyers' team and present perimeter-related reporting to EU management.

  • You develop teams, instill Bekaert culture, and enhance job-specific know-how.

  • You lead projects in line with EMEA procurement strategy.

  • You assist category teams in obtaining local data for demand and market research.

  • You support purchasing processes with Engineering and Maintenance for Early Supply Involvement.

  • You drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with regional targets.

  • You participate in strategy execution, plant meetings, and supply contract monitoring.

  • You maintain/review local purchasing KPIs and supply performance dashboards.

  • You support local implementation and monitoring of category contracts for the plant.

 

About You

Essential skills & competencies

  • You have minimum bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of procurement or purchasing experience.

  • You have strong communication skills.

  • You can demonstrate experience in planning, project execution, and resource management for a global organization.

  • You have ability to think strategically and tactically (detail-oriented).

  • You are analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • You have knowledge of SAP essentials.

  • You can communicate fluent in both English and Dutch.
